About Us

The Objectives of the Club are to provide a congenial monthly lunch meeting where members can enjoy each other’s company, develop friendships and listen to interesting and entertaining speakers. In addition, we should run enjoyable functions and outings to locations and venues appealing to the widest possible interests of members and their wives. I personally feel that the involvement of wives is particularly important and can add to the enjoyment of members in creating a friendly atmosphere.

George Ruse

I was born in 1952 in Middlesex

Went to Vyners Grammar School until 1967 then when family moved to Burgess Hill and then moved to Haywards Heath Grammar School 

I have worked with several ReInsurance brokers and a variety of Companies including Equitas which was involved with the runoff of Lloyds of London liabilities

I’m married to Deb and have two daughters and at present one grandson and one on the way

I joined Probus in 2017

I was a Councillor for Ardingly Parish Council for 16 years and chairman for 9 years

I was in Burgess Hill Rotaract Club and been Involved with Rotary firstly with Sussex Vale from 1987 and latterly with  Cuckfield Lindfield and Haywards Heath

My outside interests are U3a ( Wine appreciation, gardening, Jazz , Visiting London and Railways

Involved with short mat bowling and in the summer play outside at West Hoathly

I look forward to a happy, healthy & fun year as your Chairman.
